Thanks Giving Lunch Party 2011

In 1621, the Plymouth colonists and Wampanoag Indians shared an autumn harvest feast that is acknowledged today as one of the first Thanksgiving celebrations. Almost 400 years later, MLI continued the celebration by having our most delicious feast in the history of our school!

Students, teachers and staff brought food from all corners of the world. Some of the more memorable samplings were Ayumi’s miso soup, adorable Panda sushi rolls from Megu, Yudai’s special onigiri and nikujaga, Aisa’s Brazil cheesy bread, Tompoki from Kun, yakisoba from Mie, Ken’s broccoli casserole (recipe from Ohio . . . . ), Leah’s deviled eggs, healthy vegetables from Carl, Maria’s delicious pudding deserts, Gruzial’s spectacular cake, 3 different pumpkin pies from Laurel, Rachel and Elizabeth! AND of course 2 huge turkeys stuffed and cooked to perfection by MLI.

Once we had finished the American tradition of “over-eating” we relaxed and chatted with new and old friends. Two lucky students also performed the tradition of pulling the turkey wishbones – Congratulations to Aisa and Umberto – I hope your wishes come true.

Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Holidays to our entire MLI family!
